What is IP Blocking?
IP blocking allows you to prevent specific users or entire IP ranges from commenting on your threads. This is an essential tool for maintaining a healthy community and preventing spam.
When to Use IP Blocking
Spam Prevention
Block IP addresses that repeatedly post spam, promotional content, or irrelevant comments.
Abusive Users
Prevent users who post inappropriate, offensive, or harassing content from returning.
Geographic Restrictions
Block entire regions or countries if required by your content policy or legal requirements.
How to Block IP Addresses
Access IP Block Management
Navigate to your dashboard and go to the IP Blocks section to manage blocked addresses.
Manage IP BlocksIdentify the IP Address
Find the IP address you want to block. You can get this information from:
- Comment logs in your thread management panel
- User activity reports
- Abuse reports from other users
Add IP to Block List
Enter the IP address and configure the block settings:
Types of IP Blocks
Permanent Block
Permanently prevents an IP address from commenting on any of your threads.
Temporary Block
Blocks an IP address for a specified period (hours, days, or weeks).
Advanced Blocking Features
IP Range Blocking
Block entire ranges of IP addresses using CIDR notation (e.g., 192.168.1.0/24).
This feature is available for Premium users and useful for blocking entire networks or regions.
